Kalaram Temple (Maharashtra)

Kalaram Temple (Maharashtra)

Location: Panchavati

The temple was built between 1788–1792 by Sardar Rangarao Odhekar after he reportedly found the idol of Lord Rama in the Godavari River following a divine dream. The temple also holds historical importance because of the Kalaram Temple Satyagraha led by B. R. Ambedkar in 1930 for Dalit temple entry rights. Major festivals celebrated here include Ram Navami, Dussehra, and Diwali.
