Modhera Sun Temple
Location: Modhera Village, near the Pushpavati River
The temple was built in the 11th century by King Bhima I of the Solanki dynasty. It was designed in such a way that during equinoxes, the first rays of the rising sun illuminated the sanctum. Although worship is no longer performed here, the temple remains a masterpiece of ancient Indian architecture and culture.
