Sharada Peeth (Jammu Kashmir)
Location: Neelum Valley, Kashmir region, near the Kishanganga River
Sharada Peeth is believed to date back more than a thousand years and was once a renowned university and pilgrimage site. It played a major role in the development of Kashmiri Shaivism and Sanskrit scholarship. The ancient Sharada script is also believed to have originated from this region.

Sharada Peeth was one of the most important ancient centers of learning and spirituality in the Indian subcontinent. It was dedicated to Goddess Sharada, a form of Goddess Saraswati, the deity of wisdom and knowledge.
