Temple Description
Sri Mandeswara Swamy Temple is one of the most famous temples dedicated to Lord Shiva as Mandeswara and is especially renowned for the worship of Lord Shani (Saneeswara). It is believed that Lord Shani installed the Shiva Lingam here to atone for the sin incurred during the slaying of the demons Ashwath and Pippala. The temple is considered one of the most sacred places in India for performing Shani Dosha Nivarana Pujas and Tailabhishekam (oil abhishekam).
