About
Brahma is one of the Trimurti in Hinduism and is known as the Creator of the universe. According to mythology, he emerged from a lotus arising from the navel of Lord Vishnu. He has four faces, symbolizing the four directions and the four Vedas. He represents knowledge, creation, and the origin of sacred scriptures. His vehicle is the swan (Hamsa), symbolizing wisdom and purity. In ancient times, Brahma was widely worshipped, but today his worship is relatively rare. This is often explained through various mythological stories and the belief that his role is limited to creation alone. However, his importance remains fundamental because creation is the first step of cosmic existence, followed by preservation by Vishnu and destruction by Shiva. The famous Brahma Temple in Pushkar, Rajasthan, is one of the very few dedicated to him, where special rituals are performed.
