About
Bagalamukhi Mata (Bagalamukhi Mata) is one of the most powerful and mystical goddesses among the ten Mahavidyas in Hindu tradition. She is known as the goddess of Stambhan Shakti, meaning the divine power to stop, control, or paralyze any enemy, negative energy, speech, or harmful action. She is depicted in a golden-yellow form, symbolizing wisdom, energy, and spiritual power. Because of this, she is also called Pitambara Devi. Her vehicle is the crane (Bagula), representing patience and focus. She is shown holding the tongue of an enemy with one hand and a mace (gada) in the other, symbolizing control over speech and destructive forces. According to mythology, during a time of great cosmic chaos and destruction, Lord Vishnu performed deep meditation. From his penance, Bagalamukhi Mata appeared and stopped the destructive storm, protecting the universe from collapse. Her worship is mainly performed on Thursdays and during Ashtami tithi. Devotees wear yellow clothes and offer turmeric, yellow flowers, and yellow sweets. Her mantra is considered highly powerful for protection from enemies, legal issues, and negative energies. Bagalamukhi Mata not only stops external enemies but also removes inner fears, anxiety, and negative thoughts. Her blessings bring confidence, mental peace, and stability in life.
