About
Maa Skandamata is worshipped as the fifth manifestation of Navadurga during the sacred festival of Navratri. Her name combines “Skanda,” another name for Lord Kartikeya, and “Mata,” meaning mother. She is lovingly depicted holding her son Skanda in her lap, with four arms carrying lotus flowers and displaying divine blessings. She is often shown seated on a lion, symbolizing courage and strength, or on a lotus, representing purity and spiritual wisdom. Devotees worship Maa Skandamata to seek peace, happiness, prosperity, and the well-being of their families.
