About
Batuk Bhairav is the youthful and gentle form of Lord Kaal Bhairav, who is considered a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva. The word “Batuk” means child, and this form represents innocence combined with divine protective power. Batuk Bhairav is worshipped mainly for protection from negative energies, enemies, fear, black magic, and sudden obstacles in life. According to Hindu and Tantric traditions, Lord Batuk Bhairav guards devotees from evil influences and grants courage, confidence, and spiritual strength. His vehicle is the dog, symbolizing loyalty and alertness. Devotees especially worship him during Kalashtami and Bhairav Ashtami by offering mustard oil, black sesame, coconut, and prayers. Batuk Bhairav temples are highly popular in Varanasi, Ujjain, and many Shakti Peethas across India. Chanting Batuk Bhairav mantras and feeding dogs are considered highly auspicious. Worship of Batuk Bhairav helps remove planetary doshas, evil eye effects, financial troubles, and mental fear. He is regarded as a divine guardian who blesses devotees with safety, prosperity, success, and spiritual progress.
