About
Lord Vishnu is revered in Hinduism as the preserver and protector of the universe. He is one of the three principal deities of the Trimurti, alongside Brahma the creator and Shiva the destroyer. Vishnu’s primary role is to maintain cosmic order and protect dharma. Whenever evil rises and righteousness declines, he incarnates on Earth in various forms such as Rama, Krishna, Narasimha, and Vamana.Vishnu is depicted as calm and compassionate, with four arms holding a conch (Shankha), discus (Chakra), mace (Gada), and lotus (Padma). He resides in Vaikuntha, accompanied by his consort Goddess Lakshmi. He is often shown reclining on the serpent Sheshnag in the cosmic ocean known as Kshira Sagara.Devotion to Vishnu brings peace, prosperity, and liberation (moksha). Practices like chanting Vishnu Sahasranama, observing Ekadashi fasts, and worshipping Tulsi are associated with him. He symbolizes righteousness, balance, and the sustaining force of the universe.
